Childhood obesity study at the University of Newcastle - Ongoing
A groundbreaking study at the University of Newcastle aims to combat childhood obesity by identifying the best combination of physical activity and nutrition to help overweight children combat their problem.
The study will evaluate and compare the effectiveness of three programs; a dietary modification program; a physical skill development program; and a dietary modification program combined with a physical skill development program.
The study is seeking 6-9-year-old overweight children in the Hunter Region. Participants will be randomly allocated one of three diet and physical activity after school programs, over a school term. The physical activity program is child only and the lifestyle program parent only.
Parents of children who are interested in participating can call (02) 4921 5644.
